BAFTA Sets Date For 2025 Film Awards

BAFTA has confirmed that the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

This means the event will take place two weeks before the Oscars, which are due to take place on March 2, 2025, and once again during the Berlin Film Festival, which is scheduled to run from February 13 to 23.

The organization did not confirm the location of the awards, which this year took place at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

The 2024 BAFTA awards took place three weeks before the Oscars. The big winners on the night were Oppenheimer, Poor Things, and The Zone Of Interest.

The awards were watched by three million people nationally on BBC One on average, and 3.8 million people at its peak, the highest viewing figures since 2020. The organization said today that on the night, there were also 20.6 million video views of ceremony highlights on BAFTA’s social media platforms.

Voting takes place over three rounds: longlisting, nominations, and winners, by the academy’s global voting film membership – comprising 7,800 industry creatives.

The full timeline and eligibility details for the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards will be announced in the coming months.
